Barbara Lamar

Barbara Lamar has provided legal and accounting support to small businesses and their owners for more than 26 years. One of her primary goals is to make sure that fees paid to our firm will be a profitable investment for our clients – for every dollar paid in fees to our firm, the client should gain more than a dollar in taxes saved and/or increased business profits.

When she is not being an accounting and legal geek, Ms. Lamar works on her Permaculture farm in Caldwell County, Texas.

Ricardo Gonzalez

Graduado de Contador Público en el año del 2000 en Monterrey NL México, dotado con una gran experiencia de más de 15 años en el ámbito de la contabilidad, auditoría e impuestos, Ricardo González se ha desempeñado en empresas trasnacionales como también lo ha hecho en firmas internacionales de auditoria, principalmente en México.

Se unió a Barbara Lamar & Associates en Julio de 2013 como Contador y Consultor en Impuestos Internacionales con el objetivo de contribuir con su experiencia al crecimiento de la firma y al de sus clientes.

El disfruta su tiempo libre con su esposa y sus dos hijos.

Graduated in 2000 from Monterrey NL Mexico with a degree in accounting, has excellent experience of over 15 years in the area of accounting, auditing and taxation, Ricardo González has served in transnational corporations and international audit firms, mainly in Mexico.

He joined Barbara Lamar & Associates in July 2013 as an Accountant and International Tax Advisor with an objective to contribute with his experience to the growth of the firm and its clients.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Diana Martinez

Diana Martinez, a licensed CPA,  holds a Bachelor of Business of Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Master of Public Administration degree in Accounting from Texas A&M International and a law degree from the St. Mary’s School of Law where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi, a national legal honors fraternity.

She is a long-time San Antonio resident whose fluency in Spanish has enabled her to connect with the varying cultural constituencies that reside in the greater San Antonio area.

She believes it is important to give back to her community and has been actively involved in many not-for-profit organizations.  In the past, she has enjoyed serving as Treasurer and Finance Committee chair for the Montessori School of San Antonio and Ballet San Antonio.

Ms. Martinez’s work ethic, commitment and strong sense of family are evident in the pride she takes in her work as well as her family life.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their yellow Labrador Retriever Luna.

Ruth De Leon

Ruth De Leon graduated in 2001 from Monterrey NL Mexico with a degree in accounting. Before coming to Texas, she practiced as a public accountant for over 4 years , doing tax and audits in Mexico. During this time, she became especially interested in tax law.

One of the things Ms. De Leon loves is her profession. She enjoys helping people start and manage their own businesses.  She believes that by providing the correct tools, showing practice methods to clients and guiding them, she can help them to succeed in business and in life.

Ms. De Leon, who was born in Texas, decided to move back to Texas to study and complete her dream to become a certified public accountant. She has worked with our firm since 2007. We consider Ruth to be one of our firm’s most valuable assets. Her different roles include accounting, bookkeeping training and support, payroll, tax planning, tax return preparation, and IRS audits. Her wide range of experience and her ability to work as a team member, have made Ms. De Leon very popular with clients and those of us who work with her. We especially appreciate her honesty and kindness. Her patience makes her an excellent teacher when she provides training to staff and clients.

On the personal side, Ms. De Leon enjoys nice dinners with her family. Her favorite food is sushi.

Kristen Frizzell

Kristen Frizzell joined the firm in late February 2013. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Ms. Frizzell wears many hats to support the different departments. She assists with tax returns and IRS audits and provides detailed copy editing when needed. Now we have her primarily working in the bookkeeping and payroll departments.

In her free time, Ms. Frizzell enjoys relaxing with complex board games, as well as camping and backpacking.

Cecilia Keller

Cecilia Keller, our Office Manager, has been with our company for over five years.  Ms. Keller spends a large part of each week on project management and billing, but she also plays a very important part in maintaining harmonious relationships, both within our firm and with our clients.

Ms Keller has seen the company triple in size in the time that she has been here.  She feels very strongly that as our firm grows, we still need to treat each of our clients as if they were one of only a few.

Ms. Keller has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Mount Saint Mary’s University.  She is a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

She enjoys working out, reading, playing video games and “hanging” with her family and friends.

Carmen Ramos

Carmen Ramos, our administrative assistant, is currently working towards her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is looking forward to growing with Lamar and Associates. Serving as one of the firm’s notaries, she also helps maintain our paper and electronic files.

Working with customer relations for over 9 years, Carmen is always open to new ideas for improving and understanding the client’s experience. Answering our clients’ calls and greeting them when they visit the office, Carmen is looking forward to getting to know each one of you.

She enjoys volunteering and being involved with local community organizations. As a San Antonio native she believes it is important to work with the small business community to help grow our areas economic development and is appreciative and excited to work with our small business clients.

Her personal time is spent with her two children attending local festivities, supporting their extracurricular activities and going for motorcycle rides through the Hill Country with her husband.  She also enjoys movies, jogging and supporting her friends in the artistic community by attending gallery openings and music shows.

Priscilla Jones

Priscilla Jones holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from DeVry University. After serving in the Air Force as an air traffic controller she and her family have settled down in her hometown of San Antonio.

Priscilla’s has the ability to handle stressful situations as well as being able to multitask different projects while not losing focus. She cares about each one of our clients and gives them the attention they deserve. Her future plans include pursuing her Master’s degree in Accounting and becoming certified as a CPA.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. After being away for 9 years via the military, she enjoys getting reacquainted with the city she grew up in.
